Race Results Update #13,  Michigan International Speedway
Brooklyn, MI.

March 1, 2004

Michigan International Speedway hosted the eighth round of the WSA Worldwide Championship National Series.  This was an awesome place to hold a Sno-Cross event.  The track could have been bigger but Mother Nature worked against us and WSA did what they could to put together a decent track.

In Semi-Pro Open Bobby LePage had some great heat races and went directly to the final with his 3rd, 3rd and 1st place finishes.  Mike Schultz won his first round and was leading his second round when he ran into some misfortune and finished 7th while he took 2nd in his third round.  Mike had to go through the LCQ.  In the LCQ Schultz took the win putting him in the back row of the final.  On the start of the final both Schultz and LePage were bottled up in the middle.  Mike began moving up through traffic in this 14 lap final while Bobby stayed very consistent in the same position until he ran into problems on lap 11.  At the checkered Mike Schultz finished in 6th place and Bobby LePage finished in 14th place.

In Semi-Pro Stock Bobby took 2nd in both rounds one and two. In round three he had sled trouble which originally appeared to be an electrical problem and he finished in 7th place.  LePage made the LCQ and although no electrical problems could be found he ran a nearly perfect race and took 2nd to go to the back row of the final.  Fifteen sleds lined up for the green flag in the fourteen lap final.  When the green flew it was a slew of sleds heading down the whoop section with LePage slotting into 11th place.  Bobby ran a very smart and consistent race working his way to the front.  His sled ran flawlessly the entire race.  When the checkers were waved it was Bobby “the rage” LePage finishing on the podium in 3rd place!  That was a very impressive finish.

Mike Schultz rode very well in Pro Stock finishing 4th in all three qualifying rounds.  Mike was the #2 qualifier going to the LCQ.  They would pull the top five from the LCQ to the back row of the final.  After ten laps in the LCQ, Schultz crossed the finish line in 4th place putting him in the final along with Levi LaVallee, Brad Pitlik, Nic Manion and Mike Island.  Again fifteen sleds lined up for the Pro Stock final.  On green the fifteen sleds launched off the line with Schultz settling into the 9th spot.  By lap two Schultz had moved up to 6th place.  He continued in 6th chasing down Kuster.  However, he broke a belt on lap five and had to watch the race from the infield.  As a result he finished in 14th place.  Still he was putting in a nice effort in this very tough Pro class.

Mike Schultz has slipped to 3rd place in the Semi-Pro Open standings but is only five points away from taking over 2nd again.  Bobby LePage jumped to 7th place in the Semi-Pro Stock point standings due to his excellent performance this past weekend and could finish the year in the top five if things continue to go well for him.  He currently sits in 14th in Semi-Pro Open.

We cannot say enough about the facility at MIS.  It was a great venue and they treated us very, very well.  Thank you to MIS for an excellent place to race. We look forward to this weekend where we are at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI for Round Nine of the WSA Worldwide Championship.

Thank you to all of our sponsors for your support and sponsorship of our race team.  Without our generous sponsors none of this is possible.
