We have reached the halfway point in the season. It’s hard to believe that we
are two months away from the end of the season. It goes by fast.
This weekend we were at the Hubert H Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis MN where
the Super SnoCross Indoor Stadium Tour began its four race season. Due to Mike
Schultz getting injured at the X-Games only Bobby LePage would be racing there
for us.
Semi-Pro qualifying had taken place during the afternoon leaving only the
Semi-Pro Stock final, two Last Chance Qualifiers for the Semi-Pro Open final and
of course, the Semi-Pro Open final. Pro qualifying through the finals would
take place during the main event. The stage was set, the racers were ready and
at 7:00 PM it was “go” time.
Bobby ran into some problems in the Semi-Pro Stock class and LCQ and did not go
on to the final.
The Semi-Pro Open Last Chance Qualifiers would take the top two in each heat to
the back row of the final. In LCQ #2 Bobby LePage got the holeshot and lead and
never looked back winning the LCQ with #324 Bauerly taking 2nd, both
going to the back row of the Semi-Pro Open.
The Semi-Pro Open final went to the line with Tyler Olson, Ross Martin on
Polaris, Ryan Simons, Jerrod Fahrner, CW Sirjane, Dany Ekre, Adam Brummond all
in the front row with Justin Fahrner, Billy Waldoch, Bobby LePage for Polaris
and Paul Bauerly in the back row. When the flag went up it was Simons, Martin,
LePage, Bauerly, and Jerrod Fahrner all vying for the lead with Simons slotting
into first, Martin in 2nd and LePage in 3rd. On lap two
Fahrner got into the game taking over 2nd putting LePage back to 4th.
Fahrner took the lead from Simons on lap 5 and kept it until lap 13 when Simons
passed him back. LePage came off on lap 14 when he got bucked off over the
finish line jump. At the checkered it was LePage finished in 6th
place.
Next weekend is the Super SnoCross Indoor Stadium Tour race at the Pontiac
SilverDome in Pontiac, MI. Again only Bobby LePage will be competing for our
team. Mike Schultz will rest one more weekend before returning to racing on
